HOUSTON, TEXAS: Kaitlyn 'Amouranth' Siragusa, a well-known personality in the world of online streaming, boasting a substantial fan base across various platforms such as Twitch, OnlyFans, and Kick, recently offered her insights regarding the trend of streamers deliberately seeking bans for the sake of gaining attention and the contentious marketing strategy's impact.

Over the course of her career, Amouranth has encountered several suspensions on Twitch, primarily attributable to her provocative content, notably her hot tub broadcasts.

These broadcasts have frequently pushed the boundaries of what is considered permissible on the platform, sparking debates on acceptable content standards.

Amouranth discusses Twitch bans and their impact on streamers' reputation

During a recent conversation with Rumble star TheQuartering, Amouranth explored the subject of streamers who purposefully aim for bans in order to elevate their status and whether this trend has gained traction within the Twitch community.

Amouranth acknowledged that intentionally courting a ban can, in fact, offer certain advantages for streamers, serving as a "potent marketing tactic" that can amplify their visibility and reputation.

Nevertheless, she underscored the inherent risks associated with adopting such an approach. She stated, "It can be. The only thing that can be negative is the duration. I’ve never tried to get banned on purpose, I just feel that it’s too risky, and you never know when they’re going to decide to hit you with a seven-day or a thirty-day [ban]."

One of the primary concerns Amouranth has previously highlighted is Twitch's lack of consistency when it comes to enforcing bans.

In 2022, she accused the platform's Safety team of insufficiently communicating with other Twitch staff members about suspension decisions.

However, Siragusa did recognize that intentionally pursuing a ban can prove extremely advantageous for specific streamers, contingent on the type of content they produce and the audience they aim to appeal to.

This ongoing discussion offers insights into the continually evolving realm of content creation within the streaming sphere and the strategies employed by streamers to distinguish themselves in a fiercely competitive landscape.

When Amouranth was banned for the 7th time

Amouranth was banned from Twitch shortly after she began streaming on its competitor, Kick, on July 19. Interestingly, her suspension on Twitch was swiftly lifted. The specific cause for Amouranth's most recent ban remained unclear.

Nevertheless, it's worth noting that she had a history of streaming content that frequently tested the limits of Twitch's Community Guidelines. At the time of this writing, Amouranth had not made any public statements regarding this situation.

Throughout the duration of the ban, her channel displayed one of Twitch's standard messages, which replaced her most recent VODs, which stated: "This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service."

Kaitlyn is among a group of creators who inked deals with Kick this year, and reports indicate that certain members of this cohort have successfully secured multi-million dollar contracts.
