Slack, the workplace chat app, has stopped working for some of it users. Users saw an array of error messages, indicating that “something went wrong”. Slack’s status page showed that the site was up as usual, and that it was not aware of any problems. But a wide array of users reported problems on Twitter, and tracking website Down Detector showed a large outage.

Taylor Swift is known for dropping musical Easter eggs, and with the release of 1989 (Taylor's Version) on the horizon, a new Google game has appeared where fans can unlock the album vault track titles and features. In a post to Instagram, the pop star shared a clip of the 1989 blue and seagull-themed vault, where the vault opened to reveal different letter flying letters - a similar rollout to her previous re-recordings Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version) back in 2021. "You can tell me when the *search* is over… if the high was worth the pain," the caption read, referring to the commencement of "the search," as well as lyrically referencing the 1989 hit song Blank Space. If you Google 'Taylor Swift' now, a graphic of a blue vault sitting in the sand will appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the search results. Once clicked on, a series of jumbled letters appear on the screen in different colours along with a hint at the bottom to help fans figure out the word. Altogether there are 89 puzzles to solve in total but Swifties need to collectively solve a whopping 33m (Swift is 33 years old) puzzles globally to unlock the vault, and the fandom has made it their mission to complete the challenge. At the time of writing, over 27.2m puzzles have been solved. After quickly realising the mission, the Google page was inundated with Swifties desperately to join in - so much so that they "jammed" the vault due to demand with the search engine providing an update. (With some Swift-based lyrical puns, of course). Since then it looks like the vault is working as fans get closer to cracking it open... Geoscientists discovered a continent that had been hiding in plain sight for almost 375 years. Historically, there's been speculation about whether a continent known as Zealandia or Te Riu-a-Māui in the Māori language exists. According to TN News, Zealandia is 1.89 million square miles in size. It was part of a supercontinent called Gondwana, which included most of Western Antarctica and Eastern Australia, over 500 million years ago. It was first said to be first discovered in 1642 by Dutch businessman and sailor Abel Tasman, who was desperate to uncover the "Great Southern Continent". Despite failing to find the new land, he met the local Māori, who were initially displeased by his arrival. However, they went on to provide valuable information about the surrounding land, including the existence of a large landmass to the east. Scientists agreed on the existence of Zealandia, which started to "pull away" from Gondwana for reasons scientists are still trying to understand. Most of the newfound continent is underwater and has been used as an example by geologists at the Zealand Crown Research Institute GNS Science on how something "very obvious" can take a while to uncover. "[It's] a process which we don't completely understand yet, Zealandia started to be pulled away," Tulloch explained. His colleague Nick Mortimer, who led the study, joked that it was "kind of cool" before explaining: "If you think about it, every continent on the planet has different countries on it, [but] there are only three territories on Zealandia." TikTok is now letting people around the world see who has visited their profile. The feature means that users can see when a person clicked onto their account – with some restrictions. Like other platforms such as LinkedIn, it means that when a logged-in users visits a profile they will appear in a list. That list can then be seen by the owner of the account, but nobody else. TikTok has been slowly rolling out the feature for more than a year. It was initially spotted by users who saw references to it hidden in the app, before it rolled out more generally – and it is now available to everyone. But it must be manually turned on, and so the change does not mean that you will have been exposed as visiting a profile without knowing about it. It can also be switched back off when it is enabled. There are a number of limitations on the feature, which are seemingly intended to protect privacy. Users need to be at least 16 to see it, for instance, and also have fewer than 5,000 followers. But mostly importantly the tool will only work for other people who have it turned on: users can only see people who visited their profile if they too have the profile view history option turned on. In that way, it is similar to other privacy features in apps such as WhatsApp. There, for instance, users can only see read receipts and information about when a user is online if they choose to give that information away about themselves. The feature is switched on by opening the profile page, clicking the settings button in the top-right corner, and then choosing the settings option. Click on settings and privacy, then privacy, and then profile views. That will open up the page and show the people who have been on a profile in the last month or so. If it is not switched on already, then that same page will offer the option to do so. The data only starts being shown from the moment the switch is turned on, meaning that there will be no way of seeing who had visited an account before then. To switch the feature off, click on one of the notifications that the app sends when someone has viewed your profile. That will take you to the same profile views page, which includes a settings cog that can be used to switch the history tool back off again.
