One unfortunate patient found out the hard way why you shouldn’t wear metal during an MRI after a butt plug they were using shot through their body. A post on Twitter that appeared to show a scan of a butt plug that caused “major injuries” lodged high up in someone’s body as a result of an MRI scan has gone viral, undoubtedly making many people clench in the process. In the post by Twitter user @BradiusZero, he explained why you should “Never wear a butt plug to your MRI appointment” and shared an image of a scan that appeared to show a butt plug lodged in a person's chest cavity. Alonside the image, a separate text message read: “Greatest personal injury case I've ever heard. An estimated Valley attorney, has picked up a client who is suing a sex toy company. Said client purchased a butt plug that was advertised as ‘100 percent silicone’. Client wears butt plug to MRI appointment. “Much to client's dismay, butt plug in fact has a metallic core. Butt plug is accelerated at the speed of sound…into client's chest cavity. Described in memo as an ‘anal rail gun’. Client survived with major injuries.” The post has been viewed 10.8 million times with many speculating on what was going on there. One person tweeted: “I’m glad they’re alive but I can’t help but think that the patient was trying to intentionally shock the doctors upon doing the MRI scan as a joke and it went horribly wrong.” Wearing metal in an MRI can be dangerous due to the magnetic force that is created by the machines which is approximately 1,000 times stronger than a typical fridge magnet. Scientist have discovered a fly that... can't fly. In December 2021, the John Midgley and Burgert Muller from the Diversity of Pollinating Diptera in South African Biodiversity Hotspots project went to Lesotho, the only country in the world that has its entire territory located at an altitude of 1,000 metres and higher to see what they could find. At the Afriski mountain resort, they found 51 male specimens of Atherimorpha latipennis (a species discovered in 1956 but whose female had never been described) and a for the first time a female belonging to the same species which couldn't get off the ground. “It’s not unheard of for only the female of a species to be flightless,” says Midgley. “But there were no examples in this fly’s family, let alone its genus.” Martin Hauser, a senior dipterologist at the California Department of Food and Agriculture, who was not involved in the research, told the Guardian: “Active flight has only originated four times in the last three billion years, so it’s always interesting when a species loses the ability to fly. It isn’t super surprising to find flightless species. But it is remarkable when the first case of flightlessness is reported in a family.” Scientists could only make educated guesses about why the female had lost the ability to fly. Despite it being much faster than walking, allowing flies to escape predators. “flight is also costly,” said Midgley. “You have to grow wings, and it uses a lot more energy than walking.” “For the males it is worth flying around and being able to search a larger area for females,” said Hauser. “Even if, while flying, they are exposed to birds and other predators, and risk being blown off the mountain and ending up in a hot valley with no females.” Meanwhile, there are other species that can't fly like ostriches, kiwi and emus. Love him, or hate him, Elon Musk seems to know a thing or two about gaming (or gaming badly, according to critics). Even if you disagree with his gaming credentials, he seems to have a genuine love for video games. Musk once claimed he was one of the best at the original Quake, that gaming helps calm him. "Killing the demons in a video game calms the demons in my mind," said the tech CEO to podcast host Lex Fridman when speaking about Diablo IV where he 'cruised through Tier 100 Nightmare Dungeons like a stroll in the park.' True to that, it's said he defeated the stress from his controversial Twitter purchase (later renamed to X) by zoning out on Elden Ring, which he compared to an artwork on X: Elon Musk, most recently has spoken about Diablo IV, and Elden Ring a lot, but what is his top recommendation? The game above all games that Musk would recommend to anyone asking? Elon Musk's biggest gaming recommendation Interestingly enough, Musk was once asked this question, so his answer is the one we have to go on. With Overwatch no longer available in the form Musk recommended, we've got another big shout from the X CEO: Polytopia. Described as 'a turn based civilization strategy game about controlling the map, fighting enemy tribes, discovering new lands and mastering new technologies,' Polytopia is a game that is thought highly of by Musk, and he says it has influenced his strategy when it comes to business. In fact, Musk became quite obsessed with the game. He said it'd teach people, like his brother Kimbal, how to be CEO's themselves - but Musk said had to get rid of it as it was taking up too many 'brain cycles'. It even led to a fight with another ex of his, Grimes, who deeply upset Musk during a Polytopia session when she launched an attack on him despite having agreed to work together. She said it was "it was one of our biggest fights ever," that led to Musk giving Grimes the cold shoulder for an entire day. As for other games, Musk mentioned his fondness for spacecraft launch sim Kerbal Space Program in an old Reddit AMA. The Randian philosophy of Bioshock's Andrew Ryan is thought to be a big influence of Musk, who lists the game series among his favourites, also naming Fallout, Warcraft, Civilization and Mass Effect. He's also spent a bit of time speaking about Saints Row IV, in odd replies to news clips about President Joe Biden. Nintendo games?
