Netflix has announced that three new games, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, will launch on its app in December when the trailer for GTA 6 comes out. Excitement for the new GTA 6 game has reached fever-pitch with fans trying to pre-empt everything from where the game will be set to what will feature in the trailer. Jumping on the hype, Netflix is continuing to strive for its goal to become a top app for games by announcing that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is coming to its platform on 14 December. The three games are Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which the streaming platform says have been optimised for mobile gameplay. The clever move by Netflix will likely coincide with the official release of the GTA 6 trailer, which Rockstar Games confirmed will be released in December. Netflix confirmed the games will be playable via the App Store, Google Play and in the Netflix mobile app for subscribers. It comes as Netflix is trying to up the number of users utilising the app for gameplay. According to CNBC, fewer than 1 per cent of Netflix subscribers currently use it daily to play a game on the app, though that figure translates to 2.2 million users. The streaming service also announced titles such as Hades, Death's Door and Braid: Anniversary Edition will be coming to the platform, in a bid to attract more people to play. An influencer has gone viral across social media – for all of the wrong reasons. Santea, real name Santiago Albarran, is a 21-year-old TikTok star, mostly known for his lip sync, dancing and challenges shared to the platform. The internet star first started his channel in 2019 and has since featured alongside other online personalities including Malu Trevejo, Emelly Hernandez, Devin Caherly, and Amanda Diaz. He also has his own YouTube channel, which has amassed almost 44,000,000 views. On Thursday (15 June), a very NSFW video was uploaded to his Snapchat story, before being swiftly deleted. The clip in question showed a man and woman in a compromising position. No faces were shown. It remains unclear whether it was shared intentionally, but has since surfaced on other social media outlets. "I was barely going to sleep till I saw @Santea__ snap story woke me right tf up lol," one person hit back, while another added: "I'm just waiting for that apology video now lol." NASA is turning its attention from the stars to our screens, after it announced it will launch its own streaming service. The organisation announced that it is launching a beta for a streaming platform with the name NASA+ – and yes, the plus is shaped to look like a star. It looks like the streaming service will be ad-free and available to watch on the new beta site and the NASA app. Essentially, it’ll work a little like Netflix for space content, updating the current Nasa TV output which features livestreams of rocket launches and other events. NASA communications administrator Marc Etkind said in the press release that the organisation has designed the platform around “putting space on demand at your fingertips”. TweetDeck, a major Twitter client, has stopped working properly. The app is seemingly a victim of the same problems that have meant that Twitter has not been loading properly in recent days. Over the weekend, Twitter owner Elon Musk announced that the site would be limiting the number of posts that users could see. He indicated that the change was meant to stop bots scraping the tweets posted on the platform, though some have suggested that the problem could have other causes. The site also cut off the ability to read tweets without a login. The changes were described as a “temporary emergency measure” by Mr Musk, who said that bots on the platform had degraded the user experience. It has plunged the site into chaos as users look to deal with the ration on the number of posts, as well as a number of apparently linked problems. One of those issues is that TweetDeck is failing to work properly. Some reported that the app was unable to load tweets at all, while others found that they might initially show and then disappear, or that specific columns were not working. TweetDeck is a power user tool that is used by companies to manage multiple accounts, and by those who look to follow updates on the site through its columns and other tools. While a relatively small number of people may use the site, that includes some of those who post and follow prolifically. It is unclear whether the outage is linked to either the restrictions on the number of posts, or removing the option to view posts without being logged in. Experts have suggested that both changes appear to have been made in a rushed and haphazard way, and so might have accidentally broken other parts of the site. TweetDeck does not have an official status account. While Mr Musk has been giving ongoing updates on the situation on the main Twitter site in recent days, he has not mentioned the outage on TweetDeck. The app has been largely neglected for years. The last major announcement was that the TweetDeck Mac app would be closed down, in June 2022, before Mr Musk took over the site. In the time since, Mr Musk has made changes that have taken other third-party clients offline. Though TweetDeck was founded as an independent service, it has since been bought by and integrated into Twitter, presumably meaning it was able to avoid those initial problems in accessing Twitter’s data. Some rumours have also suggested that TweetDeck could become paid-for, or part of Twitter’s premium “Blue” offering. But the company has offered few official updates on its future at all.
