Walmart's top TV deal is back: Get a 65-inch QLED TV for under $400 ahead of Prime Day

Save $130: Until July 11 at 12 p.m. ET, Walmart+ members have early access to the $398 price tag on the TCL 65-inch 5-Series QLED TV. The almost 23% discount makes this one of the most affordable mid-sized QLED TVs during Prime Day.

There's a sort of unspoken etiquette when it comes to TVs on sale during Prime Day: Amazon has killer deals on affordable mid-sized versions of its Fire TVs while Best Buy and Walmart pick up the slack on larger premium TVs during their competing summer sales. However, there's also one deal in particular that Walmart rolls out to compete with Prime Day — a serious discount on a TCL 65-inch TV.

Year after year, we've seen Walmart drop prices on the TCL 5-Series 65-inch TV, one of the best budget TVs for gaming. While we used to get excited when priced dropped below $500, now you can score this TCL TV for under $400. This early deal from Walmart is certain to take eyes off of cheap QLEDs at Amazon. As of this writing, Walmart+ members can score the 65-inch version of one of the best cheap QLED TVs, the TCL 5-Series QLED TV, for $398. Take one glance at sale prices on 65-inch QLEDs from Samsung, Sony, or LG (or even Amazon's 65-inch Omni QLED on sale for $599.99) and let your jaw drop.

This deal will open up to non-Walmart+ members after 12 p.m. ET on July 11, though the deal is so good that there's no guaranteeing it'll still be in stock. (You can also sign up for a free trial of Walmart+ with a couple of clicks.)

The stellar price on this TCL can also be attributed to the fact that it's now an "older" generation model. TCL just released several new budget QLEDs in May, naturally pushing already budget-friendly TVs even further up the accessibility scale. The 5-Series is also going up against TCL's 2021 6-Series, which is significantly brighter and supports HDM1 2.1. But you could nearly buy three 65-inch 5-Series models for the price of one 65-inch 6-Series model — just saying.

Its utilization of quantum dots, which build a layer of extra backlights between the LEDs and the screen, expand the range of colors the TV can produce, as well as the luminosity at which they appear. The 5-Series also supports Dolby Vision and offers impressively low lag in gaming mode. You won't get the same pop that comes with a high-end Samsung QLED TV, but we also don't think you'll find a better 65-inch TV at this price anywhere. Trust us, we've looked.
