The personal data of more than 1,000 people, including victims of crime, was included in Freedom of Information (FoI) responses issued by Norfolk and Suffolk Police, the forces have said. In a statement, the two East Anglian constabularies said a “technical issue” meant raw crime report data was included in a “very small percentage” of FoI responses issued between April 2021 and March 2022. It is the latest data breach involving police responses to FoI requests, coming after the Police Service of Northern Ireland published a document which included the names and other details of around 10,000 officers and staff. A joint statement said: “Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies have identified an issue relating to a very small percentage of responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests for crime statistics, issued between April 2021 and March 2022. “A technical issue has led to some raw data belonging to the constabularies being included within the files produced in response to the FOI requests in question. The data was hidden from anyone opening the files, but it should not have been included. “The data impacted was information held on a specific police system and related to crime reports. The data includes personal identifiable information on victims, witnesses, and suspects, as well as descriptions of offences. It related to a range of offences, including domestic incidents, sexual offences, assaults, thefts and hate crime. “A full and thorough analysis into the data impacted has now been completed, and today we have started the process of contacting those individuals who need to be notified about an impact to their personal data. “This will be done via letter, phone, and, in some cases, face to face, depending on what information was impacted and what support is required. “We expect this process to be complete by the end of September. We will be notifying a total of 1,230 people whose data has been breached.” The data watchdog the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is investigating. Stephen Bonner, deputy commissioner at the ICO, said: “The potential impact of a breach like this reminds us that data protection is about people. Famous Kody, an internet personality and TikTok star, has died at the age of 21. The influencer also went by the name Mr Blicky on social media. He died following injuries sustained in a car crash in July. Last month, TikTok user JuiciNicole revealed that Famous Kody – real name Zyquan Mitchell – was in a medically induced coma. “He is fighting but he is stable,” Nicole wrote at the time. “We’re asking for prayers from everyone and positive vibes only, guys.” The influencer’s sister Zy'Kevia posted a statement confirming the news and paying a moving tribute to him. The clip encapsulates hustle and grind culture perfectly, as Mylett claimed he had more days in the week than everyone else and explained his bizarre logic. Conspiracy theories have taken over the internet since the "not real" American Airlines passenger, Tiffany Gomas, released an apology video in which she addresses the incident from 2 July. To recap, the 38-year-old marketing executive from Texas went viral for her rant on board, where she claimed a fellow passenger wasn't real. "That mother f**ker back there is not real," she said at the front of the plane while pointing towards her seat, which has since gone on to become an online phenomenon with TikTok trends, merch – and conspiracies. On Sunday (14 August), Gomas finally addressed the incident with a self-recorded video posted to her X account (formerly known as Twitter). And some conspiracy theorists online insist it's not really her. One person wrote, "Who actually believes that this is the crazy plane lady Tiffany Gomas speaking out? Who TF they trying to kid?" – though, he didn't clarify who "they" was. Another person made the claim: "Not only is this not the same person but someone ran a traceroute on her website, tiffanygomas(dot)ćom, and it runs through a Washington DC email. Her IP isn't your standard home internet IP address, mostly likely ran through a government server. This was government created." Meanwhile, a third wrote: "The mystery of whether this is really the person she claims to be can be easily solved if she produces a record of her flight receipt. Just as the lady on the plane did not believe that guy was real- I’m skeptical that this is the real person."
