The Alphabet Date Nights trend could save struggling relationships
If your relationship is feeling stale, “Alphabet Dating” has been hailed as a great way to inject some fun back into quality time. When in a long-term relationship, it can sometimes be difficult to maintain the fun and spontaneity of the earlier years and to fall back on routines. But content creator Stephanie Booe has shared her tip for getting the spark back with what she has called “alphabet dating”. Alphabet dating involves going through the alphabet and picking a date activity that corresponds to that letter. In one video about the dating trick, Booe revealed that on their A-themed date, she and her partner ate appetisers before going axe-throwing. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter She explained: “We went to a new restaurant, ordered a few appetizers instead of entrees and then we went axe throwing for the first time ever! “This was such an easy and simple little way to uproot us from our comfort zone and to do something we wouldn’t normally do.” She also added: “Hear me when I say that this doesn’t have to be big, fancy, or expensive. That’s part of the challenge! You don’t have to go out every week, you can easily find ways to do these themed date nights at home.” One Instagrammer wrote: “I love this idea!” Another said: “I love this idea! Could also easily be turned into a snack + movie-night-in with the coordinating letter if needed.” Booe recommended that partners take turns to plan dates, taking alternate letters in the alphabet. Last year, the theory of alphabet dating went viral on TikTok after users such as Abby Benson-Schwallie shared their list of creative alphabet date ideas. @abbymbenson here are is ur alphabet date list!! ?#alphabetdates #love #couple #fyp #trending #foryoupage On her list, Benson-Schwallie listed ideas such as, “Christmas movie and cider”, “Hot wings and horror” and “Nostalgia”. Harrowing animation shows how Oppenheimer's atomic bomb worked
The release of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has generated a flurry of interest in the man behind the atomic bomb, Julius Robert Oppenheimer. The film tells the story of the physicist and his role in the Manhattan Project, which was the the codename given to the development of the A-bomb. Oppenheimer, who referred to himself as “death, destroyer of worlds”, was the figurehead of the project, which involved splitting the atom and the devastation wrought by two atomic bombs being dropped on Japan in 1945. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The first bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945. It killed tens of thousands of people. It was nicknamed Little Boy. Oppenheimer Atomic bomb How it Works | First Nuclear Bomb www.youtube.com A second bomb fell days later on the city of Nagasaki, this time nicknamed Fat Man. Historians believe more than 200,000 people died as a result of the events, with millions more severely affected. Now, YouTube channel AiTelly has produced a video of what exactly happens inside such a weapon to create such a wave of destruction. The animation shows that when the bomb falls, it activates a switch that triggers a trio of navy gun primers, which in turn ignite a charge inside the weapon. Four silk powder bags containing two pounds of cordite, an explosive powder, push the the uranium projectile forward at 300 metres-per-second. The uranium collides with more uranium at the front of the bomb, combining them with four polonium initiators, which create nuclear fission. This is the act of splitting the atom, and it is what creates the huge expulsion of energy – the explosion. Have your say in our news democracy. Breckie Hill's Snapchat leaks prompts influencer to speak out
TikTok star Breckie Hill claimed she is being “sued” by her ex-partner amid a recent Snapchat leak. The 20-year-old social media star addressed the ongoing issues of videos leaking from her phone, revealing in a TikTok that her mobile phone number had been shared online, and she was being bombarded with calls from her millions of fans. But it’s not the first time the influencer has been hacked. In fact, in one TikTok she claimed it is the third time it has happened to her. In another since-deleted video, she addressed the situation. According to HITC, Hill uploaded a video on 26 July in which she alleged her former partner is suing her over leaked files, which many have presumed to contain intimate content. She wrote: “POV your ex is now trying to sue you for being in something that was leaked which wasn’t even your fault.” Hill has deleted four recent videos from her TikTok that reference the leaks. In one of them, she claimed there were a total of 709 files that has been compromised. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter @breckiehill_ Responding to one commenter who suggested that Hill had leaked the files herself, she replied: “This comment is actually really disturbing to me. Why would I purposefully cause myself stress, anxiety, and tears to put photos of me as a child on the internet, including my number, including my email?” She added: “Maybe you should be more considerate next time and try putting yourself in that position.” @breckiehill Replying to @Alissa?? According to reports, Hill is working with a private investigator to discover the person that hacked her account and leaked the content to bring them to justice since she is only 17 years old in some of the images.
