Who is Joe Bartolozzi? 21-year-old Bartolozzi is an American YouTuber, TikToker and streamer who has grown a social media following thanks to his amusing commentary and content. He boasts a staggering 22.5 million followers on TikTok where his clips have racked up 1.8 billion likes. Since creating a YouTube channel in 2020, Bartolozzi has gained 1.46 million subscribers, while his other social media platforms also have millions of followers and lots of engagement. So, when fake rumours suggested that Bartolozzi had died, it didn’t take long for the phrase “Joe Bartolozzi dead” to start trending as people tried to get to the bottom of it. But, his fans were quickly reassured when Bartolozzi continued to post on his social media channels. In one TikTok which has been viewed over 11 million times, Bartolozzi addressed the death hoax saying that it had become very annoying for him. It has been one week – one week, seven days – it’s already really f***ing annoying.” In the comments, fans poked fun at the rumours, joking that his video was produced by artificial intelligence. One fan joked: “This Ai stuff is getting out of hand let him rest.” “AI is getting too far…” another said. Someone else mocked: “He made backup videos so we won't be sad that he is not here. The biological age of our brains is a health factor that many people neglect – but as young people these days are expected to live longer than ever, it’s getting more and more important. It turns out that switching to a diet full of fresh vegetables and low in processed foods could do wonders for what’s going on up there, new research has found. According to a team of scientists from universities in Israel, Germany and the US, eating a Mediterranean diet rich in vegetables, seafood and whole grains can slow the signs of accelerated brain ageing which are typically seen in obese patients. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Scans taken after 18 months showed the participants’ brain age appeared almost nine months younger than expected, compared to estimates of their brain’s chronological age. The study involved imaging the brains of 102 people who were taking part in a larger clinical trial. Scans were taken at the beginning, and again after 18 months, along with tests of liver function, cholesterol levels and body weight. Groups ate one of three diets: a Meditterranean diet of nuts, fish and chicken instead of red meat, a similar diet but with a few added extras like green tea, or a diet based on healthy dietary guidelines. Brain age estimates were based on an algorithm that had been trained using brain scans from a separate group of nearly 300 people. People in the trial lost an average of about 2.3kg. For every 1 percent of body weight lost after following a set diet, the participants’ brains appeared about nine months younger than their chronological age. However, it is still unknown whether changes in brain age actually translates to improvements in brain function. "Our study highlights the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including lower consumption of processed food, sweets, and beverages, in maintaining brain health," said neuroscientist Gidon Levakov of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel. Golf influencer Paige Spiranac has hit out at “‘hypocrites” who enjoyed a performance of “semi-naked” men before a baseball game. Spiranac has often spoken about the negative attitudes she faces as a former professional golfer and influencer posting supposedly ‘risque’ content on Instagram. The 30-year-old shared her own experiences in a new Twitter post, claiming that people online were hypocritical for cheering a performance of men dancing topless while at the same time “harshly treating” her content. Spiranac posted a video of the dancing duo named “the Savannah Party Animals” who appeared before a recent baseball game wearing only trousers and cowboy hats. Speaking on her podcast Playing-A-Round with Paige, she said: “I wanted to help this charity out and I wanted to give them free golf clubs. "The guy wrote back and said, ‘We would love to but, because of the way our board members view you, you can’t help out’. I want to give back to these kids who don’t have anything, because I grew up not having anything. And I can’t even f***ing do that because of my cleavage.” Spiranac also recently clapped back at a TikTok troll who accused her of "insulting men" with her outfit choice.
